Timberland Regional Library is committed to providing equitable access to library services and resources for all community members. We invite you to review the accessibility resources on this page that may improve your experience of the library in-person and online.

Services

  • Accessible parking spaces.
  • Pick up holds, access Wi-Fi and get help at our growing list of Anywhere Library stops.
  • Library Takeout curbside holds pickup available by request. Call your local library.
  • Books by Mail
  • Self-checkout options at all locations.
  • Designate other users to pick up and check out items on your behalf.
  • Service Animals are welcomed at all locations.

Collections

  • All digital materials are automatically returned on their due dates.
  • No daily overdue fines for late returns.
  • iPads available for in-library use.
  • Chromebooks available for checkout.
  • Assistive devices are available to check out through the Washington Assistive Technology Act Program (WATAP).
  • Large Print books, CD Audiobooks and Playaway audiobooks are available for checkout.
  • Museum Passes and Discover Washington Passes remove financial barriers.
  • MyTRL partnership for all K-12 students online access to resources.

Since 2020, many building improvements focusing on ADA compliance and accessibility have been made. Signage within buildings has also been updated.

Technology

  • Public computers with accessibility extensions installed including Read Aloud, Print Friendly and Magnifier.
  • Access Wi-Fi at all locations and Anywhere Library.
  • Expanded Access Hours (EAH) available at select branches provides library access on your schedule 7 days per week before and after staffed hours.
  • View and access TRL Board of Trustees meetings via Zoom.

Improving accessibility is essential for creating an inclusive web environment for all users. However, external website accessibility can vary greatly from one site to another, and not all websites may have comprehensive accessibility information.

Technology To Help Bridge The Gap

Technology can play a role in helping to improve accessibility. Explore library resources and materials in a wide variety of formats -from books and audiobooks to engaging games, puzzles and activities for all ages.
